Christmas Craft Fayre

What a hectic time it's been, it's taken until today to update my blog.  Things need to slow down soon, before I burn out.  Still got to write my cards, put the tree up, finish the Christmas shopping and then of course comes the wrapping!

I had the school Christmas fayre on Friday and as promised here are a couple of photos from then.

This is my son, he helped out along with a very good friend.

And this is my rack of Christmas cards (well some of them)!

This week I have been busy personalising Christmas cards that I have sold, that has kept me pretty busy.  I also had a couple of requests for cards, an 80th birthday card and a leaving card for a very special dinner lady!

Here are the cards I made.

I'm hoping by the end of the weekend I will have written my cards and put the tree up and completed a request for a Diamond wedding anniversary card!  Wish me luck!

... And finally ... Christmas cards are finished!

Well I can finally say that on Monday I made my last Christmas card for 2011!  Next came Christmas gift tags, and I've finished them also.  Almost all preparations for the School Fair on Friday are complete!

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I topped up my supply of birthday, anniversary, new baby and wedding cards, so all in all I've been pretty productive.

I thoroughly enjoy making all these Christmas cards (200 this year), but I am glad to clear the kitchen table afterwards so that we can dine at it once more, oh and the floor will no longer be covered in glitter!

Tonight, I packed the car with all the cards, gift tags and baubles I've made for the School Fair tomorrow.  (If I remember, I'll take photos and post on blog)!  I've also packed some bits and bobs for personalising the cards if people would like that done, that keeps me busy during the fair!!

Here are some of the final collection of cards I made.

Hope you like some of my cards, I'll try to find time to update with what they were made with!

Will update blog after the School Craft Fair.

More Christmas Cards!

These last few days I've been using my coloured images from Digistamps to make Christmas cards.  The images were coloured with Promarkers.  In most of  them I have coloured two of each image so I can do a bit of decoupage.  The images really are easy to re-size and to colour, especially with Promarkers!  A bit of glitter, ribbon and some background paper from my HUGE stash, and of course, snowflakes and some gems, the cards are done!

Here are some the cards I have made with the digistamps.

Yesterday I stamped numerous designs ready to colour while watching the TV in the evening, crafting just never stops.  Less than two weeks to School fair, so this is when the panic sets in!

Glittering Baubles!

A quick update on what I've been up to tonight.  I've been busy glittering baubles for the School Christmas Fair on the 2nd December.  I bought the ready to decorate glass baubles from Panduro and they were a pretty good price!

I have the most fabulous collection of fine glitters, so have plenty to choose from.  I've used the opaque, hologram and pearlescent glitters, I didn't think the translucent ones would be quite right.

Here are are some I have done so far!  Lots of more to do - the floor is sparkling all over!!

And here's my collection of glitters I have to choose from!

Will try to get blog over the weekend!

My Craft Space

Thought I would share my craft area and storage with you after having shared it with QVC Craft on Facebook last week when everybody was showing off where they craft.

I don't have a craft room unfortunately, maybe some day, so in the meantime, my storage comes in these glorious storage units from The Really Useful Products Ltd.  I'm in and out of the cupboard like a yo-yo!

... and this is where I craft!  The kitchen table.  Not much meals are eaten here, especially during the lead-up to Christmas, it's all glitter and snowflakes from now until then!

I have made 130 Christmas cards now, planning on lots, lots more!

Today, I popped along to The Papeterie to watch Kath and Debbie doing some wonderful demonstrattions.  I couldn't stay too long because other half needed the car to go golfing!!  Topped up on some paper/card stock and added a few promarkers to my collection.

Did you watch Big Brother last night??  I was really quite please with the result!  Tonight's X-factor was good even after a technical fault caused a late start, I was very confused when I switched over from Strictly to find X-factor auditions being shown!

I have just put a movie on, 'Despicable Me', should be fun, so signing out for today.

Tatty Ted

Not blogged for far too many days, been busy making lots and lots of Christmas cards,  117 I think now!  Only 3 weeks until School Fair, so nothing left but keep to keep making more (and some more on top of that)!

After this blog update, it will be time to watch the final of Big Brother, who will win??  You decide!

I have also been trying to update the Dyce Swimming Club website tonight, but having too much problems with having to 'recover webpage' messages, so I gave up and decided to update my blog instead, hopefully won't be having the same problems with the blog, technology!!  The wine I am drinking certainly helps with the stress of it all!!

Here are some of the cards I've made this week with Tatty Ted.

Snowflakes with everything as you can see!

Will try to pop down to The Papeterie tomorrow because the Fabulous Debbie and Kath are demonstrating their skills there in the morning.  Best have a tight hold of my purse strings while there!

Well, time for Big Brother, so must dash!

Frosty and Friends

Slowly, very slowly, getting through my Christmas cards!  Some days I just don't seem to get anywhere, I often just end up chasing my tail doing other things and I end up not getting any cards done.  That's just what happened tonight, had great plans for getting a few cards done but it's quarter to ten and not one card made!

I completed several cards recently using Frosty and Friends from Craftwork Cards and have posted photos of some of them below.

You'll notice I forgot that this one was meant to be a Polar Bear and I coloured him in as a teddy bear, never mind, he makes a cute bear too!

I used Promarkers to colour in the images.  Snowflakes from Martha Stewart punches.  I used Pinflair Ice Diamond on the ice-berg and it is really effective, great in shaker cards too!

I've now started on a load of Kanban Christmas products, I really need to get a shift on because I've got a stall at the School Christmas Fair on 2nd December!  I also need to get the inserts stuck inside the ones I've made, not enough hours in the day at the moment!  I am sure you can relate to that.

I've managed to colour in a load of images from Digistamps in preparation for putting them on cards, I do this while watching TV (Big Brother usually), very relaxing!

Until next time ...

A start to my Christmas cards!

I have made a start on my Christmas cards for 2011!  I started with Christmas Warren from Craftwork Cards, and slowly making my way through my Warren stash along with co-ordinating papers and Christmas flowers (also from Craftwork Cards).

In this one I have layered the papers from the Christmas Flowers pad from Craftwork cards on square card from Craftwork Cards.  The snowflake frame was stamped with Martha Stewart's Stamp Around the Page (it was a bit tricky to use, but got there in the end).  I wanted to use the Fran-tage embossing powder I bought on Saturday on this but couldn't use a Versmark pad as I couldn't see the image through the plastic, so had to resort to a black ink pad!  The snowflakes are the leftovers when using Martha Stewart's snowflake punches.  Finished with a greeting.

This shaker card was made again with Frosty and Friends also from Craftwork Cards.  Image coloured with Promarkers!

Frosty and Friends coloured with Promarkers - oops - got a bit carried away, should have been a polar bear, not a teddy bear!  Papers, card and candi from Craftwork Cards.  Ribbon from my stash and photo corners are from Anna Griffin.

More from Christmas Warren, Craftwork Card's flowers and papers, ribbon from stash.  The red mount behind Warren is from Kanban and fitted perfectly.

Another shaker card, and this is one of my favouries made so far!  One of the first rossettes I've made, fiddlier than I first thought.

Tonight I thought would colour some more digi-stamps from Digi-stamp Boutique but I burnt my thumb with steam from my iron, and it's still very painful, so giving it a miss for tonight and updating my blog instead!

Saturday 8 October 2011

It's the weekend!

Ahh, it's Saturday at last.  It's a dry start to the day and both my kids are doing the Parkrun 5k at the beach, so up early!  Hubby and I settle for a take-out Cappacino and watch the runners!

Once home, I abandon the family and make a trip to the Papeterie to watch some demos by
Amy Shaw!  Amy was demonstrating Woodware's crafty edge and Stampendous Fran-tage range.  The demos were great with a bit of fun thrown in!

Obviously, I had to buy something didn't I?  I bought the Fran-tage silver crushed glass glitter and the shabby white embossing enamel.  I also bought a pack of Gorjuss girls stamps and the obligatory pack of paper/card stock!

Back home and planning to throw myself into a Christmas crafting frenzy, well I will if I know where to start!  This is a picture of my Christmas crafting goodies, taken down from the attic, but where will I start?  I have started some decoupage preparation so I could go on to making cards from that, or I could do some stamping and colouring with my promarkers, decisions, decisions!

Halloween cards and counting down to Christmas!

Finally got around to my first proper blog post, will take a while to work my way around blog land!

Have been busy topping up my stock of halloween cards these last couple of days. Have been using papers from Pink Petticoat along with digistamps from Digistamp Boutique and some other bits and bobs I have.  I used my promarkers to colour the images in.  I also used some halloween die-cuts from my Silhouette digital die-cutter.

Then I made myself comfy on the sofa watching Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and got the scissors out to start cutting out decoupage from Tatty Ted to make a start on my Christmas cards!

It's also the beginning of  the October holidays now and I'm off for the next fortnight, so should have plenty of time for making lots and lots of Christmas cards, well I will try!

I will hopefully manage to pop down to the Papeterie tomorrow as Amy Shaw will be demonstrating on Saturday and doing workshops all day on Sunday.

Well back to my Christmas preparation (whilst watching Big Brother and Horse of the Year Show), going to make a start on the gorgeous Warren and Frosty and Friends from Craftwork Cards!
